Major Advising Information

Academic Advisors in the Office of Academic Advising support undergraduate students, with a focus on first-year students and exploratory students. Students with a declared major in their second year and beyond receive guidance from faculty to draw from their expertise in the major field. To connect with your major advisor, please review the information below.

Daniels College of Business Advising
Daniels advisors have moved their in-person location to DCB 255 (2nd floor of Daniels) for all 2nd year and above Daniels College of Business Students.
Daniels drop-in advising for winter:
- Week 1: 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm, M-F (all advisors each day)
- Weeks 2-5: 1pm-3pm, M-Th (1 advisor each day)
- Week 6: 1pm-4pm, M-F (2 advisors each day)
- Week 7: 1pm-4pm M-W, 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm Th/F
- Week 8: 9am-4pm, M-F (all advisors available)
- Week 9: 1pm-3pm, M-Th (1 advisor each day)
- Week 10: 1pm-3pm, M-Th (1 advisor each day)
- Finals week: No drop-ins (scheduled appointments only)
- During breaks: No drop-ins (scheduled appointments only)

- If you don’t see an advisor for your major assigned to you by week 2 of fall quarter, please reach out to the person identified in the Department/Program Advising Contact List (Use your DU credentials to log in)

Same-Day Appointments

Same-day appointments become available for scheduling starting at 8 a.m. on designated days. You cannot book for a day in the future. Students may book a same-day appointment through DU Success Hub with their assigned academic advisor (if available) or with any academic advisor with open appointments.

Undergraduate students may use these appointments to clear their advising hold, or they may also meet with an academic advisor to discuss:

Submitting an academic exception
Taking a leave of absence
Discussing potential major or minor degree options
Navigating the degree audit and Bulletin in exploring course options for registration

Week 7 (Extended Hours)

Students may schedule an individual appointment with their assigned academic advisor in the Office of Academic Advising through DU Success Hub, subject to availability.

If you are a 2+ year student with a declared major, please refer to the information above at the top of the page to connect with your major advisor.

How To Make a Schedule Ahead Appointment in DU Success Hub

Quick Question Drop In Hours

Quick Question Hours are offered during peak registration periods, in the first days of classes (week 1) and registration week (week 8). These appointments are open to all students - you do not need to have an assigned advisor in our office.

Quick Question advising meetings are intentionally designed to be "quick" (10-15 min) and for issues that do not require a full appointment slot. If you anticipate needing more time with an advisor, consider booking a Schedule Ahead Appointment or Same-Day Appointment.

Virtual: Add yourself to virtual drop-ins through DU Success Hub (you can only add yourself during the hours listed above)
- NOTE: If you join the virtual queue, an advisor will email you when they are available to see you and you will have about five minutes or so to join their Zoom room. Keep an eye on your DU email for this notification after you have joined the queue.
