Professional Biography

Donald D. Bergh (PhD Colorado-Boulder) is the Louis D. Beaumont Chair of Business Administration and Professor of Management at the Daniels College of Business of the University of Denver. Previously, he held appointments at Purdue, Cornell and Penn State. He is a frequent summer lecturer at University College Dublin.

His research interests lie primarily in corporate strategy (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, diversification) and research methodology (design, analysis) and his work has appeared in the field's best academic journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management , Organizational Research Methods and the Journal of Management Studies. He has served his field as an Associate Editor (AMJ, 2002-2004; ORM, 2008-2010, and JMS, 2011-2013) and as a member of the editorial review boards of AMJ, SMJ, OS, ORM and JMS. Along with David Ketchen, Jr., he co-edits the Emerald series, Research Methodology in Strategy and Management, now in its 10th volume.

His teaching experiences include strategic management, mergers and acquisition strategy and execution, management consulting, and research methods (design and measurement). He has taught courses at all levels.
