Professional Biography

I earned a Master’s degree in General-Experimental Psychology from California State College, San Bernardino (1979), and a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Graduate School of Professional Psychology, University of Denver in 1983. In my current role, I am an Associate Professor and Director of Community Practicum Training. My areas of specialization and interests include behavior analytic practice using mindfulness and acceptance, dialectics, behavioral activation, and exposure-based approaches to intervention, with special interest in philosophy of science, Jamesian process-thinking, deconstructionism, and Daoist/Buddhist subfields of Chinese Philosophy. I teach a four-quarter sequence in behavior analysis and offer a yearlong professional seminar in behavior therapy. I am a licensed psychologist in Colorado and maintain a small private practice in Summit and Eagle Counties, with a focus on general issues of behavioral health and psychological well being.
