Professional Biography

Rohini Gupta is a Clinical Psychologist. She is a core faculty member at the University of Denver Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP), International Disaster Psychology Program (IDP). She is the Director of the Trauma & Disaster Recovery Clinic (TDRC), which is a training clinic that provides mental health services to those who have experienced adversity and trauma. She Co-Founded the Colorado Resilience Collaborative, a community based initiative aimed at addressing Identity based violence due to radicalization and discrimination.

Dr. Gupta teaches courses in trauma interventions and co-leads seminars for master and doctoral level students that focuse on professional development and the supervision of clinical cases from a trauma informed and cross cultural len. In addition to teaching and supervising, Dr. Gupta develops and facilitates a number presentations, webinars, and consultation groups that involves the training of studentes to conduct these services in the community. For example, Dr. Gupta and students have been involved in community healing workshops that focuses on discussing the personal and professional impact of incidences of identity based violence and hate. Reflective consultation groups, (aimed at preventing and mitgiating stressm vicarious trauma, and burn out) are offered to various providers and organizations working with communities who have expereinced trauma, disasters, and adversity.

Areas of interest include the following: Trauma and trauma informed care; Vicarious trauma, burnout, and compassion fatigue; Work with ethnic/racial minority populations; Multicultural education; Diversity/inclusivity; grief and loss; community resilience; and Clinical training and supervision.

In addition to her work at the university, Dr. Gupta owns and operates a private practice in the Denver Metro Area. She is on the Board of the Womxn's March Denver and chairs their community engagement team, consulting on reaching and serving the needs of marginalized and underserved populations and ways to create a more inclusive movement that focuses on uplifting women and girls.
