Rinku Dewri is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Denver. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Colorado State University, Fort Collins.

Research
Dewri's research has broadly centered around computer security and data privacy. He has worked on network security provisioning, privacy of data sharing solutions, private sharing of location data, inference risks in “so-called” anonymous data collection, all with the purpose of demonstrating that security and privacy does not come for free, as in there is always an operational cost involved, and quantitatively understanding this cost-benefit play is critical to make any solution attractive for adoption.
Dewri is currently involved in
i) exploring scalable infrastructures to facilitate privacy-preserving linkage of medical data across organizational boundaries, and
ii) exploring systematic approaches to create situational awareness in the rapidly expanding network of Internet connected devices.
