Professional Biography

Keith Kaplan is currently the Court Administrator for Fountain Hills Municipal Court, a limited jurisdiction court in the Phoenix metropolitan area, where he oversees and manages all non-judicial decision making and all administrative functions of the court. Prior to this, Mr. Kaplan was managing the statewide court standardization project for the Arizona Supreme Court/Administrative Office of the Courts. He worked in many capacities at the Arizona Supreme Court, including as Business Analyst for the statewide case management system replacement team and as Deputy Court Clerk for the Arizona Supreme Court Clerk's Office. While at the Arizona Supreme Court, Mr. Kaplan received awards for his service and for his contributions to the statewide case management system replacement team. Mr. Kaplan is currently a member of the Court Security Standards Committee and Data Standards Committee at the Arizona Supreme Court.

Mr. Kaplan earned his Master of Science in Legal Administration with a Court Administration concentration from University of Denver's Sturm College of Law where he was awarded the Outstanding MSLA Graduate Award. Mr. Kaplan is a Certified Court Manager and Certified Court Executive from the National Center for State Court's Institute Court Management, and is currently a candidate for ICM Fellow from the Institute for Court Management. Mr. Kaplan also teaches Managing Court Financial Resources for the Institute for Court Management's Certified Court Manager program.

Mr. Kaplan has been published in the American Bar Association Judges' Journal as well as the National Association for Court Management's Court Manager. His interests include topics of advancing the judiciary while balancing the traditions courts are built upon, among other themes.
