She came to Colorado in 2010 to work with AmeriCorps NCCC, which sparked an interest in working with young adults to achieve their civic, academic, and professional goals. This experience ultimately led her to complete a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education at the University of Denver in August 2016.

Leah began her DU career in 2013 as the Campus Visit Coordinator in Undergraduate Admission and transitioned to Academic Advising in late 2014, where she focused her effort on supporting students in identifying, assessing, and achieving their educational goals. In 2017, Leah transitioned to University Academic Programs in the Provost's Office to support and manage a variety of high-impact programs, including the First-Year Seminar program, the Undergraduate Research Center, the One Book One DU program, and Interterm programming. Leah is currently the Associate Director of Student Success Systems, managing the implementation, utilization, and training of the Civitas advising tool, Inspire. She hopes to use this tool to further leverage faculty and staff talents and resources in supporting student persistence and success at DU.
