Professional Biography

I was born in San Diego and moved here when I was about 4, but I think a part of me will always still be in California, always pining for the sandy beaches and sea. I began my undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado Boulder and finished it at the University of Colorado Denver, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. My career has been entirely in higher-education, having started in Student Services at Regis University and then transitioned to the Registrar at our great university, and now to the wonderful team of Academic Advising.

Where is your favorite spot on DU's campus? The renaissance room in Mary Reed Building. It's got a beautiful library-ambiance, and sometimes people play the piano in there which is awesome!

What is your favorite entertainment? I love movies and music, and tons of different types - my favorite types of movies are probably more sci-fi, philsophical, dealing with heady themes; and my favorite music types are usually dreamy, ethereal, with a melody that kind of pulls you along throughout the song.

What is one piece of advice you have for students? Try out new and different clubs, sports, or courses that you never would've considered otherwise! College is a great time for experimenting and learning exactly what you would like, whether that's in the classroom or outside of it.

How do you practice self-care? I take some time to myself alone, just to kind of rest away from others and get my mental energies back a bit - often this is by watching a show or movie by myself, or swimming if I can find a pool. I really like spending time with other people, but it can definitely drain me a bit after a full day.
