Erin Wright, M.S.
Academic Advisor
Professional Biography
With over two decades of experience spanning education, human resources, and student development, I draw on a unique blend of teaching, corporate consulting, and advising expertise to support students in their academic and personal journeys. I bring a deep commitment to helping students discover their strengths, passions, and purpose both inside and outside the classroom.
Prior to joining the University of Denver's Office of Academic Advising, I served in educational and leadership roles from Guam to Chicago to New Jersey, where I cultivated a reputation for compassionate guidance and student-centered advocacy. Currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Higher Education, I believe in creating relationship-rich learning environments that empower students to navigate challenges with confidence, curiosity, and integrity.
Perhaps most influential to my advising philosophy are the educational and extracurricular opportunities of my own college-aged children. I strongly believe that my experiences escorting them through those years offer me added insight and a unique understanding of the challenges facing today's college students and their families.
Pronouns: She/Her
What is your favorite entertainment? I love a good reality TV competition. Think Survivor, Amazing Race, The Challenge, or The Traitors. They fascinate me, and I secretly wish I was brave enough to apply for one.
What is one piece of advice you have for students? Find a way. That's it. Whatever it is you want in life, there is a path to it. That path might be winding. It might have unanticipated detours, stop lights, and road blocks. You might need to get creative with your route, or use an entirely different kind of map. You might need to stop and ask for help. It might take much longer than you anticipated. But there is always a way!
How do you practice self-care? I love to take long walks - preferably under tall evergreen trees and while listening to good music. The fresh air, blue sky and greenery always make me smile, and I return home with a clear heart and mind.
