Professional Biography
John serves as the CCESL Student Programs Manager where he develops and administers student programs in alignment with CCESL values and grounded in community engagement best practices. To accomplish this work, John supervises and mentors CCESL Fellows and Scholars and advises the student organization, DU Service and Change. He also develops and manages student program materials, leads the design and implementation of student trainings and workshops, and develops and maintains relationships with faculty, staff, community partners, foundations, and alumni.
John has a deep commitment to center students in programming aimed at building the knowledge, skills, and commitments for the public good. For the past 10 years he has worked with students in higher education and has experience in student leadership, experiential learning, student success, and community engagement. John eagerly supports students as they collaborate with communities, deepen social justice commitments, and develop their public identities. He is currently a PhD student in Higher Education at the Morgridge College of Education with research interests in civic engagement and spirituality.
