Leadership Minor for Current Students
Declare the Minor
You must officially declare leadership studies as a minor by filling out the "Application to Declare or Change Undergraduate Degree/Major/Minor" form and submitting it to the Office of the Registrar.
Please read through the following questions if you're looking for electives for your leadership minor.
Does the course/courses meet the criteria?
Courses must be 2000 level or higher to be elective credit. The course content must be related to leadership or related topics. The course/s cannot be going towards another major or minor. If you are studying abroad, INTZ 2501 (Exploring Global Citizenship) counts toward your LDRS electives and should automatically be attributed in your degree audit. LDRS-sponsored Interterm trips to Ireland or Belize also count as elective credits.
Have you considered these LDRS elective classes open to all students at DU?
- LDRS 2911: The Job and Internship Search (2 credits)
- LDRS 2120: Mentorship: Theory to Practice (2 credits)
PLP Faculty and Staff will review the course/s elective request. If approved, the office will communicate with the Office of the Registrar. Students will receive communication if the request is approved or denied.
These courses are simply a sample of elective courses. Many other courses qualify as elective courses for the Leadership Studies Minor; please check the PLP Community in Canvas for more details or talk to a staff or faculty member.
Remember that internships, independent studies, or study abroad courses may count toward your electives. For study abroad, complete the Request Coursework Approval Form in MyDU.
