- 2022 Initiation and Graduate Celebration was held Thursday evening, June 9th.
- If you were unable to participate, we typically coordinate a make-up group initiation in later summer. Accept your membership per emailed instructions, and contact Chapter president Dennis.Barrett@du.edu to explore alternative initiation options.
- Alpha Association of Colorado annual meeting: We're happy to host the state association for its annual member lunch and meeting, Saturday, 17 September. Details shared soon via pbkcolorado.org/events
- Visiting Scholar: With cosponsors, we'll welcome Vanderbilt Law professor Ganesh Sitaraman on October 27-28th, for class visits, office hours, member breakfast, and Thursday evening public lecture. Additional details TBD.

Sponsored with the departments of Languages & Literatures, Religious Studies, History, and Political Science; the Office of the Dean (CAHSS); the Center for Middle East Studies; the Center for Judaic Studies; the Center on American Politics; and the Office of Information Technology.

Visiting Scholars
The national ΦBK Visiting Scholars program enriches the intellectual life of host campuses by offering chapters the opportunity to compete each year for a visit from a panel of twenty of the nation's most distinguished scholars. The DU chapter has welcomed multiple scholars in the past decade, including:
- Dr Forest Rohwer (April 2022). Cosponsored with the Biological Sciences, University Honors Program, University Libraries, and Geography & the Environment, the San Diego State University professor of biology presented a public lecture (video below), visited classes, held office hours, and enjoyed breakfast with Chapter members.
- Dr Evie Shockley (April 2021). With co-sponsors ΦBK Alpha Association of Colorado and the DU Department of English and Literary Arts. Rutgers University English professor virtually visited classes, and offered two poetry readings and discussions.
- Dr Richard Alley (November 2019). With co-sponsors Biological Sciences, Geography and the Environment, University Libraries, Center for Sustainability, and the Honors Program. Penn State Professor Alley guest lectured in several classes, shared meals with students, faculty and staff, and presented a free public lecture: Two-Mile Time Machines: Ice Cores and Abrupt Climate Change.
- Dr Jamsheed Choksy (April 2019): With co-sponsors Religious Studies and the Center for Middle East Studies. Indiana University professor Choksy guest lectured in class, had meals with PBK members, and presented on Religious Minorities in Contemporary Iran: The Politics of Tolerance and Intolerance
