Teaching Reflections
Faculty who have taught ASEM have been asked to share their perspectives and reflections over the years.
Since 2007, over 70 DU faculty have participated in three-day workshops, as preamble to their teaching a Writing Intensive Core course. This slim volume collects the work of seventeen professors as they reflect on the Writing Intensive Core.
In 2014, former Executive Director Doug Hesse compiled insights and reflections of faculty across campus about their experiences teaching writing in the First Year Seminar (FSEM) and Advanced Seminar (ASEM).

25 DU professors from across campus analyzed student First Year Seminar (FSEM) and Advanced Seminar (ASEM) writings, composing reflections about WAC innovations, assignments, and pedagogy.
24 DU professors who had taught ASEM participated in three 3-hour workshops in June 2017 in which they discussed the goals of ASEM, its place in the curriculum, features, characteristics, and student performances.
