The Common Curriculum is designed through faculty collaboration and units across campus. The Faculty Director of General Education serves the University by reporting to Senior Vice Provost of Academic Affairs and Faculty Senate, and supports faculty, students, and staff in general education matters. The Faculty Director of FSEMs and ASEMs reports to the Senior Vice Provost of Academic Affairs.
Faculty Director of General Education, Richard Colby
The Faculty Director of General Education works in close partnership with administration, Faculty Senate’s Academic Planning Committee (APC) and Faculty Senate President, and the Central Committee (CC) of faculty and administrators to oversee, manage, and recommend improvements to DU’s general education program.

Faculty Director of FSEMs and ASEMs, Rachael Liberman
The Faculty Director of FSEMs and ASEMs works in partnership with the Senior Vice Provost of Academic Affairs to manage and support faculty teaching First-year Seminar and Advanced Seminar courses. The Director chairs the FSEM and ASEM committees, offers professional development opportunities for faculty, and builds processes that support student learning and faculty professional development.
