Professional Biography

I spent my first few years out of college working in the corporate world after graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. During this time, I found myself drawn to a career in education where I could positively impact people’s lives. Since earning my M.Ed. from Boston University, I’ve been an elementary and secondary classroom teacher, a director of student development managing all operational and guidance elements of the secondary student experience, and a student success coach and college admissions consultant. My interest in undergraduate student life is a natural progression of my professional experiences and interests.

I am excited to be part of the University of Denver academic advising team and will work to empower students by recognizing their uniqueness and helping them thrive as undergraduates.
I have two daughters, a sophomore in college and a recent graduate of USC who is now exploring graduate school options. My daughters keep me involved in college life and allow me a parent’s perspective of the challenges and priorities of today’s college student experience.

My family recently moved to Denver from Atlanta, and I'm enjoying living out west. In my free time, I enjoy working on our bungalow in the city with my husband and exploring cultural and outdoor activities around Denver and the mountains.
